As a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit, One Health Organization has a volunteer Board of Directors. Our board members help us make Northeast Ohio a healthier community for pets and pet parents.

Our Board of Directors

We're thankful for the help and leadership of our Board of Directors. Meet our board members below.

Board Chair: R. Patrick Cannon, BBA

Patrick Cannon HeadshotPatrick Cannon has been a leadership volunteer since 2021. He quickly became Board Vice-Chair given his passion for the mission and his managerial experience. In 2023, he became Board Chair. He has other volunteer interests, too. He is also involved in volunteering for AMVETS Post 109 and St. Bede’s Church in Mentor, Ohio.

Patrick has management experience starting with work at Walmart and then Gordon Food Service before working in the banking industry at KeyBank and his current position as Regional Manager at Medical Mutual.

A lifetime Clevelander, he currently lives in Mentor, Ohio, and enjoys going to the beach with his wife and being near and on Lake Erie. Patrick loves spending time with his Yellow Lab, Luna. 

Board Vice-Chair: Jennifer Lynch-McKinney, MNA

jennifer headshot websiteAs one of our newest Board Members joining the Board in January 2023, Jennifer is a huge animal lover who has years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She quickly became Board Vice Chair given her fundraising expertise in October 2023.

Jennifer has worked in fundraising for organizations such as University Circle, Inc. and Cleveland Zoological Society, and now works for CHN Housing Partners as the Manager of Fundraising. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Equine Administration and Business Administration from Otterbein College (now Otterbein University) and a Master’s from John Carroll University in Nonprofit Administration.

Jennifer enjoys volunteering through various organizations, spending time with her husband and their identical twin girls, and loving on her miniature poodle, Midnight.

Secretary: Shannon Henry, JD

Photo of Shannon HenryShannon joined the Board in 2022. She quickly rose to become Secretary given her legal background and fill an unexpected vacancy. She has a passion for animals and wanted to become involved in the non-profit space.

She is an Associate Attorney at Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP, practicing labor and employment law. Shannon graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2018 and has been practicing ever since.

She has been a long-time volunteer with a local animal shelter and spends her free time with her dog Leo, her lionhead rabbit, and her frequent foster dogs.

Treasurer: Michelle McCon, CPA

Photo of Michelle McConMichelle joined the Board in 2022 as a huge animal lover and young professional who wanted to bring her talents to the Board of Directors. Since she joined, she became Treasurer in 2023 when term limits required her predecessor to leave the Board.

Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant with expertise in accounting and assurance services. She earned her Bachelors of Accountancy from John Carroll University in 2013 and has worked in public accounting ever since. Michelle currently holds the role of audit manager at HW&Co. 

In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their pets, riding horses, and DIY projects.

Board Member: Leslie A. Gentile, JD

Photo of Leslie GentileBoard Member Leslie Gentile joined the Board in 2021. She's not new to the work of nonprofits. She co-founded an animal-related nonprofit called Safety for Animals and Families in Emergencies, which helped pets and people in domestic violence situations for ten years before closing its doors.

Leslie has decades of experience as a lawyer who opened her own firm in 2006. She has expertise in all aspects of family law and domestic violence representation, and experience in litigation and mediation. Leslie formerly worked for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland representing indigent clients and continues to take pro bono indigent cases referred by Legal Aid. She is active in the Lorain and Cuyahoga County Bar associations and is currently president of the Lorain County Bar Association.

In her spare time, she enjoys music, her garden, and helping pets reunite with their people.

Board Member: Madilyn Maruna, JD

Photo of Madilyn BellMadilyn Maruna joined the Board as a young professional in 2020. She was not new to volunteering as she is also the President of Greater Cleveland Echelon, a young professional group for the Salvation Army.

Madilyn is an Associate Attorney at Cavitch, Familo & Durkin. She earned her law degree at Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. During that time, she worked as a law clerk and marketing coordinator. She also spent more than three years on staff at the Chocolate Bar in Cleveland.

In her free time, Madi enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, and spending time with her family and her dogs, Hendrix and Intro.
